 Meet Venus

With a passion for writing and an incessant thirst for hosting social events, Venus organized what was initially, the Seminar for Aspiring Christian Writers in January of 2009; the first gathering of its kind for Christian writers ever held in SE Michigan. Approximately 30 emerging authors attended the one-day event which consisted of six workshops and facilitated by local published authors and other literary professionals. Since then, the annual event has grown exponentially, and is now the annual Anointed Pen Christian Writers Conference held in the heart of Detroit, Michigan.

Venus declares that she often "hears" books in conversations with people who might never have even considered writing a book. However something in the conversation sparks her innate ability to recognize a story that needs to be told.

Having connections with both mainstream and independent book coaches, publishers and other literary professionals, Venus is always excited to be a initial liaison between future authors and prospective members of their "Dream Team."

Venus is the author of Brown Paper Bag, a Christian novel. In addition to being the founder of the APCCA, she is the CEO of E3 Publications and the president of the Metro Detroit Scribes for Christ, a chapter of the American Christian Writers which meets each month. Additionally, she is a member of the Motown Writers Network.

Citing Titus 2:3-5, as her inspiration, Venus is also a Wife Coach, and founded Wisdom4Wives and the Real Holy Wives of the Kingdom. Two groups which provides Biblically based guidance and practical life skills for married women and women who are preparing for marriage.

She has been married to the man of her dreams since 1985. She is also a mother, grandmother and is her mom's primary caregiver. Venus describes her residency as "Imported from Detroit with no plans to leave."
